Easter? I forgot!

Pt. Dave Kenney
Colossians 2:9-12

v.9
In Jesus, ALL of God is there.
Instinct, it's impossible?
Was Jesus all men?
Was Jesus all God?

Jesus Christ was fully God and fully men ALL the time.

v.10
How can we be a follower of Jesus if we are not Jew?
In Christ. We already received everything we need to be a follower of Him thru Jesus.

You can't make your life fully "spiritual".

Water baptism is a demonstration for outward expression of what Jesus had done.
Baptism is an act of obedience.

v.13-15

13. Jesus in the Cross did a complete work - forgive us.

In Christ we are still guilty but we won't carry all the punishment.
Jesus Christ is not a plus..plus..plus.. (like 20,000+++)

v.14
He canceled the unwritten code.

def. [Cancel]:
To wiped out
To wiped away
Either I.O.U
or Committed to what you have done (that's paying the punishment).
Hand written by the tertuduh.

Jesus take out all of this in at the Cross. He doesn't need to die over and over again.
Only ONCE and for all!

"Nailed it to the Cross" - this literally works for Him.
law? there's no longer a law.

v.15
We are public spectacular.
We shine the light thru out the world.

This isn't just about forgiveness, it's about changing.

Understand that,
Next to Him, we have Nothing
Through Him, we have Everything

Pt. Dave Kenney

Matt 22:34-40
Matt 28:18-20
Acts 1:7-8

Love God
Love Others
Reach the World

AS A CHURCH
We are not a church that is trying to do everything for everyone. We are not a church that can meet everyone's needs, wants or desires!
We are what we believe what God calls us to do.

Love God
To know Him through learning the Bible and to express our love to HIm in our worship, prayer, and daily walk with Him. - do together as a church.

Love Others
To love all others as much as we love ourselves. This extends not just to our friends and relatives, but to everyone we encounter, no matter who they are and what their background.
- everyone is a neighbor.

Reach the World.
To reach out with God's love and God's Word to those who are beyond our immediate world. To go beyond our own communities in sharing the Good News.

Does this activity help us know and love God more?
Does this activity help us love and express our love to others?
Does this activity help us reach beyond ourselves and our own world to those who need Christ and His love?

AS INDIVIDUALS IN IES - goals in life and ministry

Love God
Jesus replied: "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind." This is the first and greatest commandment. Matt 22:37-38

Reading and studying the Bible, and applying it in their everyday life.
Worship God privately and in the church with fellow believers.
Love God by giving Him our time, talents, and resources.

Love Others.
And the second is like it: "Love your neighbor as yourself." All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments." Matt 22:39-40
second in order, but not second in class, one can't stand without the other.

Everyone will be encourage to participate in a LIFE group.
We will help everyone find ways to express their love of Jesus to the people in their lives who don't know Him.

Reach The World.
19Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." Matt 28:19-20

Everyone in IES will find a place of ministry.
Each person in IES will support Outreach with their time, talents, and resources.

One Worship, One Small Group, One Ministry - everyone need to commit.
